Our Story

In the mid-1980’s, Rock n Roll Rentals emerged from a guitar haven of traders to a new concept of renting high-end musical equipment at affordable prices. Jim Norman, the owner, began to see that Austin’s growing music scene needed a support system for musicians to have access to not-so-affordable equipment. This vision of low cost rentals struck a chord with Austin musicians and paved the way for more than 25 years of steady growth and an involvement in the Austin community that continues to grow. It became clear early on that it was not only musicians who needed access to high quality sound and lighting equipment, great recording gear and musical instruments, it was all of Austin! Rock N Roll Rentals has something for everybody. We are continually adding new brands and the latest and best rental equipment to our inventory.
